YESTERDAY, A LEVEL STUDENTS ACROSS THE EAST RIDING RECEIVED THEIR RESULTS

Yesterday, students across the East Riding, received their A-Level results.

Early result indications suggest that students have performed well compared to regional and national averages.

Councillor Victoria Aitken, portfolio holder for children, families and education said: “Good luck to all students receiving their results.

“The young people who collected their results have had a turbulent few years in education, and haven’t sat exams since the SATs in Year 6, due to GCSEs not taking place during the covid pandemic. I know they will have worked very hard and I hope our students have achieved the grades they hoped for and need for the next steps in their journeys.

“Thank you to the dedication and hard work of our wonderful teachers for the exceptional support they give to our students and the whole school community.

“I wish our young people lots of success in their futures, either in further education, training or into their chosen career.”

This is the first time since 2019 that pupils have sat A-Level exams due to the pandemic, where A-Levels were teacher assessed from mock exams, coursework and essays.

The Key Stage 5 league tables will be published by the Department for Education in January 2024. This will include attainment and progress measures for A-levels and for other level 3 vocational qualifications such as BTECs and diplomas.
