The Race The Waves/Bridlington Steampunk Weekend has been hailed a ‘roaring’ success by both locals and visitors alike.
The weekend began with a parade of vehicles along the High Street on Thursday evening, this was followed with the registration day on Friday where all the vehicles taking part in this years ‘Race The Waves’ converged on the Priory Church Green much to the delight of everyone who turned up to get a closer look.
The vehicles then set off on a ‘cruise ‘ through the town on Friday evening.
The main event took place on the South Beach on Saturday and Sunday with the Great Bridlington Steampunk attractions inside the Bridlington Spa, both of which attracted thousands of people to the seafront.
Speaking to Bridlington Gold Radio, organiser Paul Garbutt said he would like to say a massive thank you to Bridlington, East Riding Council, the people who came to the events, the competitors and everyone who helped to make the combined events a massive success. He went on to say that he and everyone he has spoken to are already really looking forward to next year.
‘Race The Waves 2023’ will take place on Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of May.
