The Royal Hall, Bridlington Spa will host it’s annual Great Bridlington Steampunk Weekend on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May 2023.
Buckingham Palace has announced that the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May, 2023.
The Coronation Ceremony will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury and take place in Westminster Abbey.
The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort.
In celebration of this, The Great Bridlington Steampunk Weekend will be themed around this incredible and historic momentous occasion.
The Ceremony will be shown as it happens live on large projector screens within The Royal Hall (on silent), and a dedicated Screen Room will be set up for attendees that want to soak up all of the sights, sounds, atmosphere, long standing traditions and pageantry associated with the occasion.
We actively encourage attendee dress up and participation with costume, accessories and accoutrements, themed around this wonderful Sceptred Isle of ours, whether as a historical figure, King, Queen, or leader in their field of expertise, science, industry, exploration and discovery!
The Royal Hall will be decorated in a riot of red, white and blue, and food and drink will be available throughout the event reflecting the wonderfully diverse cuisine we enjoy…I’m sure there will even be Coronation Chicken too!
Fun filled family friendly festival on one of our most historic of occasions, the events will be buzzing inside the Royal Hall with entertainment, presentations, workshops, authors, as well as a most exquisite emporium of astonishing apparel, accessories and accoutrements.
NIGEL & JULIE LIMB
We are really privileged to introduce Inspirational and Motivational Speakers, Record Holders and Authors Nigel and Julie Limb.
Nigel is also known as Blind Bloke Racing, and Julie is The Feel Good Lady, and to host them as our guest speakers on Sat 6th May is a real coup.
Time for their talk to be confirmed, but Nigel and Julie will be around all Saturday with a stand to chat, sign books and other merch.

KEVIN KELD
Introducing Kevin Keld as The Motorcycle Undertaker.
We are really looking forward to welcoming Kevin with his stories and tales from his 30 years in the motorcycle business.
Kevin will regale us over the weekend with hilarious and startling insights into the world of motorcycle breaking on both Saturday and Sunday (times to be confirmed).
Copies of Kevin’s books will be available to purchase during the weekend both at his talks and Bows ‘n’ Bones Trade Stand, which he will happily personally dedicate for you too.
EAST COAST MAJORETTES
Introducing East Coast Majorettes, who were established in 2019, are a local dance twirl, pom and military freestyle troupe based in Bridlington.
East Coast Majorettes compete every year across Yorkshire with the end of season championships being held locally at the Bridlington Spa.
The team was formed by members who have been involved in majorettes for the majority of their lives and missed dancing.
East Coast Majorettes initially started as a Senior only troupe, however due to the success of their first competition season they were overwhelmed with the amount of interest received from younger dancers.
At the end of 2022 they welcomed members aged 5-12 to train with them, some of who will be performing at the Great Bridlington Coronation Steampunk Weekend on Sat 6th May (time tbc).
THE ANTIPOET
Introducing the fantastic ANTIPOET to Bridlington who will be entertaining us over the weekend with their beatrantin’ rhythm ‘n’ views…and are absolutely flipping bloody brilliant!
Paul Eccentric and Ian Newman, are together the world’s finest exponents of beatrantin’ rhythm ‘n views!
Having become somewhat successful over the last decade, they have tirelessly toured the poetry, comedy and music circuits and have appeared at countless festivals including, Glastonbury, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Edinburgh, Brighton, Rebellion, Lake Fest, Larmer Tree…and Whitby!
Over the past twenty five years Paul has worked as a poet, novelist, lyricist, singer, playwright and director.
Paul has performed solo as a poet and a storyteller; as the mouthy half of The Antipoet; singing with The Odd Eccentric and The Sentimentals and playing percussion with both Caution Horses and DodoBones.
He also wrote and recorded 3 radio series for My Word Radio.. Paul continues to be one of the most prolific writers on the spoken word circuit in the UK.
COASTAL VOICES
Introducing Bridlington’s very own Coastal Voices Community Choir who will be bringing an additional touch of class with a live performance on Sunday 7th May at 3pm in the Royal Hall.
A stunning performance was enjoyed at last years event and it is an absolute pleasure to welcome Coastal Voices back!

WOW! We are so very pleased to announce our good friends Ravens Morris will be with us at The Great Bridlington Coronation Steampunk Weekend in May.
