SEWERBY HALL REOPENING TO THE PUBLIC

The next phase of the reopening of Sewerby Hall & Gardens begins today, (Mon 17th of May), with the reopening to the public of the house itself.

Speaking on Bridlington Gold, General Manager of Sewerby Hall & Gardens, Marie Gascoigne said “it is something that everyone has been looking forward to. Other good news is, this year, we have a brand new exhibition, ‘Our Sewerby’ this marks the 85th anniversary of the house being owned by the council and opened to the public. The new exhibition will chart the house and parklands development from a private house, surrounded by fields, to what it is today, a beloved destination for both locals and visitors alike”. Marie went on to say “we are delighted to announce that we have a limited events programme that will run in the school half term holidays. We are pleased to welcome back ‘Rusticus Woodland Creatures Theatre’ who will present three outdoor plays featuring the much loved characters Frog, Rabbit, Fox, Mole, Badger and Doormouse.” Marie also added “certain restrictions will still apply, the house will operate on a one way system and something else new this year is that we have a new QR code trail. People can use Smartphones to scan the codes and hear a one minute audio tour of each room, on the ground floor, to enhance their visit.” She closed by saying how much we, at Sewerby Hall & Gardens, are looking forward to welcoming everyone back.
