Fatal collision on #A165, appeal for witnesses.
On Friday 7 May 2021 at 3.30pm officers were called to a collision between a black Mercedes GLA and a red Peugeot 2008 on the A165 at the junction of the Grindale Road.
The driver and passenger of the Peugeot, a man and a woman in their 30s, sadly sustained fatal injuries in the collision and died at the scene. A child travelling in the car was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries. The families of the deceased are being supported by specially trained officers and our deepest sympathies are with them at this extremely sad time.
The female driver, and sole occupant, of the Mercedes sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains in a serious condition.
We are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle prior to the collision to call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 338 of 7 May 2021.
