East Riding of Yorkshire Council has launched a new consultation to gather views on domestic abuse services in the area.
The responses will help create a new Domestic Abuse Partnership Strategy for 2023 –2026, which will set out how different organisations, such as the police, local authorities, health services, prison and probation services, and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, can work together to help people affected by domestic abuse in the East Riding.
Two surveys are now live at: https://www.eastriding.gov.uk/council/consultations/ (The Engagement Surveys, Research and Consultations section of the council’s website).
The first is aimed at anyone who provides support (paid or unpaid) for people who have experienced domestic abuse in the East Riding.
The second is aimed at anyone who has experienced domestic abuse themselves, including men, women, young people, members of the LGBT+ community, vulnerable adults and all cultural and faith communities.
Each page of the “victims and survivors” survey includes a “Quick Exit” link for anyone who may need to leave the survey quickly.
Angela Dearing, the council’s director of housing, transportation and public protection, said: “We are working hard to understand how we can better support victims and raise awareness about domestic abuse in the county.
“We want to hear your opinions on what we are doing well and how we can improve.
“We value the thoughts and ideas of everyone in our community, especially those who have been affected by domestic abuse.
“Your feedback will help us make important decisions and improve the support we offer.”
