Following the announcement of the formation of a new division, in the Northern Premier League, Bridlington Town, along with another two clubs from the Northern Counties East League, have been offered promotion.
Speaking on Bridlington Gold, the Bridlington Town Chairman, Peter Smurthwaite said “the offer of promotion has been made to the club based on the number of points scored over the past two seasons. The promotion would bring with it a higher standard of football to the town as well as attracting more ‘Away’ supporters, hopefully bringing more revenue to the club and the town as a whole.”
The upward move would mean more expense for the club and, therefore, the possibility of a small increase in ticket prices. Peter went on to say that, “on both the financial and playing side of the club, I’m confident we are ready to make the move.”
He thanked everyone for their ongoing support and encouraged more people to come along and support the towns football club by both, attending games and taking advantage of the facilities of the newly built Town Bar which, with the involvement of local schools and with usage by local charitable organisations, he hopes, will become more a part of the local community, rather than just a public house.
The new ‘Town Bar’ on Queensgate is open to the public and is available for functions/community events. There are also various sponsorship opportunities available to local businesses throughout the forthcoming season.
