Bridlington RNLI Volunteer Crew Member Stands Down After Over 20 Years Service

Volunteer crew member, Ad Trower, began volunteering with the Bridlington Lifeboat crew in 1998.

Over the years he has taken part in countless exercises, rescues and operations, not only locally and nationally, but also internationally, as part of the RNLI’s flood rescue team.

Ad also served as the Senior Helm for the Bridlington in-shore lifeboat.

After all his years of service and countless call-outs, Ad is quoted as saying: “I feel this is the right time for me to stand down and to be able to spend more time with my wife and young son.” he also said: “I am looking forward to seeing the next generation, of young volunteers, following in my footsteps.”

The Chairman of Bridlington Lifeboat, Mr Dave Garnett, offered his thanks to Ad, on behalf of the station, and praised his commitment and contribution to the community of Bridlington, which is hugely appreciated, and hopes that he enjoys some well earned family time.
