Terry Luty, an Admin of the ‘Bridlington Neighbourhood Watch’ Facebook Group, and other groups on Facebook, has shared the following, very important advice, onto his groups pages:
“A little word from us on the safe storage of fuel…
Simply put – please do not store excessive amounts in or around your home. Fuel and fuel vapour can be extremely flammable, explosive and toxic! ⚠️
Official guidance, from the Health and Safety Executive states that you can legally only store 30 litres of petrol or diesel at a domestic residence or non-workplace.
Up to 10 litres can be stored in plastic containers, and 20 litres in metal containers.
You should also ensure fuel is never stored within your home. It should be kept in a well ventilated, secure outbuilding away from any sources of ignition.
Let’s stay safe!”👍
