Renowned journalist, television presenter, and author Piers Morgan has been announced as the keynote speaker for The Business Day at Bridlington Spa, set to take place on Friday 6 June 2025. About Piers Morgan
Born in 1965, Piers Morgan studied journalism at Harlow College before launching his career in local South London newspapers. His big break came in 1989 when he joined The Sun and was given his own showbiz column, ‘Bizarre.’ In 1994, Rupert Murdoch appointed Morgan as the editor of News of the World, making him the youngest editor of a national UK newspaper in more than half a century. Two years later, he was headhunted to edit the Daily Mirror, a position he held until 2004.
Beyond print journalism, Morgan became a household name through his television career. He was a judge on both Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent and won the first series of Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice. In 2011, he moved to prime-time television in the U.S., hosting Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN.
In the UK, Morgan co-presented the popular morning show Good Morning Britain and the celebrity interview program Piers Morgan’s Life Stories. Currently, he presents Piers Morgan Uncensored and continues to write columns for The Sun and The New York Post. Morgan is also a successful author, with several books to his name, including bestsellers Wake Up and The Insider.
