LOCAL HERO AWARD FOR BRIDLINGTON MAN

Bridlington man, Ryan Linley has received a Local Hero Award from Humberside Fire & Rescue Service. Ryan was presented with the award by Chief Fire Officer, Chris Blacksell and Councillor John Briggs, chairman of the Humberside Fire Authority.

Ryan was presented with his award at the Humberside Fire Service Headquarters. He was given the award for the work he did for charity last year.

Accompanying Ryan, at the presentation was someone who has played a very important role in his life, his youth worker, when he was growing up, Martin Conley. It was Martin who nominated Ryan for the award and said “it is amazing to see how much Ryan has changed over the years that I have known him.”

Ryan later turned to social media to make the following statement on his Facebook Page: “I would like to make it clear, I’m so proud and humbled to even be nominated for this award, let alone receive it, but I’m no hero, I just did what I could to help. I’m so thankful for the award and it has taken pride of place on my shelf. Another great thing about today’s visit to the Humberside Fire and Rescue’s Headquarters was being able to see all the historical pieces of memorabilia they have on display.”

Everyone at Bridlington Gold would like to congratulate Ryan on receiving his well deserved award.
