🗣 Following the latest government announcement delaying stage 4 of the roadmap out of lockdown in England, which would have seen the removal of all legal limits on social contact, Bridlington Spa has announced the cancellation of those shows planned without social distancing for the period between Monday 21 June and Sunday 4 July.
The affected shows are Northern Soul Weekender scheduled for Friday 25 to Sunday 27 June and The Best of Take That tribute show planned for Sunday 4 July.
Tickets for Northern Soul will remain valid for the new date of 24-26 June 2022; if customers have any queries, they should contact their point of purchase. Ticket holders for The Best of Take That tribute show will be automatically refunded.
Further communication on the events taking place in the two weeks following the 4 July will be released following the next government review.
General Manager, Mark Lonsdale said regarding the news: “We are hugely disappointed that we are not able to see the immediate return of shows without social distancing being in place. With more than 2,000 people booked for the Northern Soul Weekend it was immediately obvious to us and the producers that as soon as the delay was announced, the event had to be cancelled for this year.
“Northern Soul Weekend is one of the highlights of our year and with the cancellation, economically it is a huge loss to the town. After almost 17 months of restrictions, we were looking forward to seeing the return of shows without legal limits being in place.
“We carry on planning for the eventual lifting of all legal limits, and in the meantime continue to produce socially distanced entertainment. Our café with indoor and newly installed outdoor seating will remain open and look forward to what we hope will be a busy summer ahead for Bridlington.”
