*UPDATE*
*BRIDLINGTON ARMED FORCES DAY PARADE CANCELLED*
Martin Barmby, Organiser, issued the following statement on their Facebook Page:
“Well, it would appear lockdown has beaten us again. Bridlington Armed Forces Day parade, static displays, veteran associations and cadet displays has to be cancelled. We do not have the resources or manpower to hold the event within current government guidelines. As soon as we have a date for next year, we will announce it on here.
Hopefully the flypast will still occur as it is definitely socially distanced!
Thanks again for the help and work that everyone does to make it happen. Here’s to next year’s!”

This year’s Bridlington Community Armed Forces Day Celebration will be held on Saturday the 3rd of July. Speaking on Bridlington Gold, Martin Barmby, from the Bridlington Armed Forces Day organisers said: “The parade will be stepping off from the war memorial at 12 o’clock, making its way to the South Foreshore, taking the VIP salute at the harbour top on route. There will be lots of stalls, stands and displays for people to see on the South Foreshore, including military vehicles, local cadets, serving military personnel and the Bridlington Lifeboat. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in the fun. Weather permitting, there will also be a fly past by one, or possibly two, vintage aircraft.”
Any veterans wishing to take part in the parade are welcome to do so. Anyone wishing to bring a stall or stand can contact the organisers via their Facebook page ‘Bridlington Community Armed Forces Day Celebration’
